Velosity Companies Senior Project Engineer in Forest Lake, Minnesota

Teamvantage, a Velosity Company is searching for a Sr. Program Manager to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN. The Sr. Program Manager will manage all aspects of new product development programs from inception to production approval. Other responsibilities will include managing customer communication, driving deliverables to resolve issues and achieve time lines, developing tools and fixtures, researching and implementing processes, and leading cross-functional teams to develop robust solutions.This position will report to the Engineering Manager, and has no direct reports. The typical pay range for this role: $110,000 - $150,000 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, internal equity and other relevant factors. Direct and assume responsibility for the activities of the team (some dotted line responsibilities may be required). Proactively consolidate communication from multiple sources to effectively communicate issues, project schedules, and updates to customers and suppliers as needed. Create project time lines, define customer deliverables, and create project plans for project execution. Monitor, control and communicate overall cost, schedules, risks and deliverables to all stakeholders. Understand and manage workloads placed at tool shops and other external suppliers to ensure lead times meet or exceed quoted lead times. Assume responsibility for all aspects of development projects to ensure all changes in scope are identified and documented. Oversee the quotation process and ensure change is effectively implemented and internal and external expectations are understood and maintained. Complete mold specification sheets, request quotations and place purchase orders with the selected tool shop(s); initiate Redline Review documentation for the team's review. Conduct internal and external (as required) Tool Design Reviews and provide feedback to the tool shop while applying lessons learned from previous designs. Review the final mold design to ensure all updates have been included from Tool Design Review. Be present when molds are sampled to provide support to the process engineering team and to better understand, evaluate and address quality and functional issues. Ensure all issues and feedback identified in the sampling phase are reviewed and resolved and that resolution is communicated to the process engineering team. Work with the quality team to identify and resolve all dimensional issues and provide direction to the tool shop(s) in regard to the necessary steel adjustments. Provide feedback to tool shops in regard to delivery, workmanship and performance (vendor scorecard). Update the preferred vendor list and investigate/ evaluate new tool shops as necessary. Proactively anticipate the needs of the customer and/or project and develop plans to mitigate risks encountered during the project. Ensure the correct resources are identified and monitor the work of the resources to ensure valued contribution to the success of the project. Escalate resource issues as appropriate. Pursue opportunities for additional business working closely with sales to identify opportunities and assist estimating in developing proposals. Assist in identifying, developing and implementing systems to drive continual improvement in project management and product development processes. Mentor other program managers to further develop their role and skills. Other tasks as assigned by supervisor Licensing/Registration/Certification: Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States. Work Conditions & Physical Demands: Teamvantage is a non-smoking, climate controlled, professional injection molding facility. The manufacturing environment may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors as would be customary in an injection molding facility. Walking and stair climbing is required within the facility. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance.
