Job Summary:

The R&D—Foodservice team is seeking a dynamic, current college student to fulfill our summer internship program in 2025. Interns in our area have completed past projects such as texture analysis of cheese products, bakeoff application of cheese products over shelf-life, and quantification of the effects of different milk treatments on cheese make and sensory processes. This responsibility includes assisting in design, execution, and documentation of pilot plant trials and experiments; conducting sample analysis on simple analytic equipment; conducting an independent project with support and guidance from others; and effectively communicating (both written and oral) scientific results. Interns in this role can expect to further their learning in Food and Dairy Science, Biology, or other related fields with focuses on research and development of new products, continuous improvement initiatives, manufacturing processes, and sensory analysis, in addition to collaboration, customer focus, independent and team-centered work, professionalism, attention to detail, time management, and more.

What you need to be considered for the role:

  • Student in Sophomore or greater status working towards a degree in a science or engineering related field.

  • Interest in Research and Development with a focus on New Product Development, Sensory Analysis and or Microbiology.

  • Mature, positive outlook with ability to focus on multiple duties across different areas

  • Advanced Word and Excel skills- particularly graphing, table manipulation, and some statistical application

  • Strong math skills with some exposure to statistics

  • Strong work ethic, self-starter

  • Able to maintain confidentiality
