Opportunity

As the Director of Corporate Security for the undisputed leader in the Marine Industry, this position has accountability for developing and directing Mercury Marine’s security program worldwide. This individual will be accountable to direct the security teams at all locations in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining security processes to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability in all areas of financial, physical, and personal risk. The Director of Corporate Security ensures that standardized security systems, tools, and processes are used at all locations by coordinating the implementation of security guidelines and policies, overseeing compliance to these policies as well as key performance indicators and operational metrics, and the implementation of appropriate risk mitigation controls. This leader will oversee the corporate security function either through direct management or matrix relationships across multiple departments.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifies, develops, implements, and maintains strategic and evolving security policies, procedures, systems and practices across the organization to mitigate risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure and liability in order to reduce human, financial, and reputational loss.

  • Leads the organization's security strategies and related programs to ensure the physical safety of all team members, visitors and customers along with the security of Mercury Marine’s property and assets

  • Researches and recommends new and/or replacement systems and devices to maintain a safe and secure work environment at all Mercury Marine campuses

  • Develops and provides detailed training to others within the organization which aide in daily operations and safety monitoring

  • Implements processes and methods for auditing and addressing non-compliance, performs security audits and facilitates compliance reviews. Works closely with Mercury Marine leaders, Human Resources, Internal Audit and legal to determine requirements related to security regulatory compliance

  • Keeps abreast of information, directives and events within the scope of responsibility and takes appropriate actions to ensure Mercury Marine team members are properly trained and equipped to manage potential issues, breaches or events

  • Supports the organization by participation in creation and implementation of quick actions during a time of crisis (i.e., weather, security threat, etc.).

  • Serves as the liaison for efforts involving investigative and public safety agencies on matters related to safety, planning and prevention

  • Responsible for identifying and resolving security related problems including conduction of needed investigations and preparation of incident reports as necessary.

  • Work with senior leaders to prioritize security initiatives and spending based on appropriate risk management and/or financial methodology.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement or related field

  • Advanced law enforcement training such as the FBI Nation Academy, Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or the equivalent are preferred, but not required

  • Significant experience in a security management or law enforcement environment.

  • Demonstrated expertise in workplace violence mitigation, risk assessment, workplace investigations, supply chain security compliance and security systems.

  • Excellent knowledge of security programs, techniques, mitigation and operational systems

  • Ability to build relationships across multi-state locations and corporate divisions

  • Superior verbal and written communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
