As a Senior or Principal member in the AI-optimized Memory Systems Architecture team, you will contribute to the architecture of novel, tightly-coupled, high-performance memory systems, with a strong focus on performance, energy efficiency, and reliability. In joining our rapidly growing team of domain experts across platforms, systems architecture, component design, and advanced packaging, you will apply your deep knowledge of compute architecture, hardware architecture, and/or memory systems architecture to architect and optimize memory systems for AI.

*This will be a hybrid role based out of either our Folsom, CA office.

*The Seniority level will be determined by a combination of education and experience.

Our expectations:

  • Architect novel, tightly coupled memory systems, optimized for AI workloads, with a focus on performance, energy efficiency, reliability, among other optimization points.

  • Explore memory systems and controller feature tradeoffs through performance modeling and simulation.

  • Create and maintain architecture documentation.

  • Develop architecture models and explore end-to-end systems tradeoffs.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience with memory systems: scheduling, reliability, media management algorithms, prefetching, virtual memory, caching, interconnects, etc.

  • Experience with high-performance memory devices and memory systems, like HBM.

  • Experience modeling sophisticated architectures in gem5 or other cycle-accurate architecture frameworks.

  • Ability to influence decisions through data-driven systems analysis.

  • Programming experience in a high-level language, like C/C++, Java, Python, etc.

What sets candidates apart:

  • Pathfinding experience with domain-specific architectures (NPUs, GPUs, or other accelerators).

  • Contributions to sophisticated system-on-a-chip (SoC) architecture efforts.

  • Experience with various memory interfaces (GDDR, HBM, LPDDR, etc.).

  • A Masters, PhD, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years of proven experience.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$156,000.00 - $330,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
