Sodexo is seeking an experienced temporary Registered Dietitian (18 weeks, starting July 1, 2024) for an outpatient bariatric position at New York Presbyterian Medical Group in Fresh Meadows , NY . The Bariatric Surgery Program at New York-Presbyterian Queens is accredited as a Comprehensive Center by the American College of Surgeons through the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program.

Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition Manager, the successful candidate will:

• provide exceptional nutrition care to pre- and post-operative bariatric and non-surgical weight management patients;

• be well-versed in bariatric standards of care and emerging research;

• provide individualized counseling as well as virtual group education classes/support groups;

• participate in quality improvement projects within the department, as needed; and

• efficiently and effectively organize clinical nutrition and patient care responsibilities.

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:

• Registered Dietitian and CDN (Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist) credentials in New York (required), some bariatric experience preferred;

• excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups;

• strong verbal and written communication skills;

• strong time management skills; and

• the ability to work with minimal oversight in collaboration with physicians, nursing and ancillary staff.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)(Note:For those seeking registration after 2023, a master’s degree will be required)

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision

Credentials Requirement:

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

• Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice

• Specialty credential in area(s) of focused practice, as applicable, or advanced practice certification (RD-AP/RDN-AP)
