Description
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join their team! The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing and controlling our production costs and inventory, identifying and reducing wastage, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial records, and providing accurate and timely financial information to management for decision-making purposes.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and monitor all production costs including material costs, labor costs, overheads, and inventory valuations
Prepare and maintain cost accounting records, including standard costs, variance analysis, and inventory valuation
Develop and implement cost accounting policies and procedures to improve accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of the cost accounting system
Identify and analyze cost reduction opportunities, and work with cross-functional teams to implement cost-saving initiatives
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records by conducting regular audits and reconciliations
Provide timely and accurate financial information to management, including cost reports, budgets, and forecasts
Participate in the development and implementation of pricing strategies
Collaborate with other departments, including production, purchasing, and finance, to ensure accurate and timely cost and inventory information
Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
At least 2 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with complex data sets
Knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices, including standard costs, variance analysis, and inventory valuation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP systems
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Good attitude and work ethic
