 Schedule will be two twelve hours shifts- Monday and Thursday 10am to 10:30pm

 General Statement: Under the direction of the Program Manager or designee and within established policies and procedures, serves a dual role transitioning between performing duties as a certified medical assistant and performing front office duties to support the medical clerks. Facilitates the smooth, efficient and continuous flow of patients through multiple front end systems and processes in an outpatient medical office setting. Utilizing all modules of the CHIP system, ensures patients are scheduled timely and appropriately based on chief complaint and/or clinic protocol. Collaborates with members of the clinical care team to improve access and continuously improve and simplify clinic processes. Performs administrative and medical support functions, many of which are confidential in nature. Responsible for supporting the delivery of appropriate, timely and beneficial care for patients.

Minimum Requirements:

* *Educational Requirements**: High school graduate or equivalent AND Completion of an accredited medical assistant program resulting in Certification

Year(s) of Experience: One (1) year experience in medical front office procedures, which can include, customer service, insurance verification and electronic scheduling. Experience working with underserved and vulnerable populations and familiarity with mental health, substance abuse problems and medical terminology.

Board Examination:  Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Additional Requirements:*Keyboarding and computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, electronic medical/health records, and database management. Must be able to exert 20 pounds of force frequently and/or consistently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Must be able to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction; pick, pinch, type or otherwise primarily with fingers. Must be able to apply pressure to an object with the fingers and palms. Must be able to raise objects horizontally from position to position. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Walking and standing also required. Valid Michigan Driver's license and use of a vehicle during working hours. 

Must be willing to work irregular hours and holidays.

*Preferences: *Minimum one (1) year experience working in a medical office setting as a Certified Medical Assistant strongly preferred. Mental Health experience preferred.
