Special Information

  • This position is an on-site position which requires the incumbent to complete their work primarily at an NAU site, campus, or facility with or without accommodation. Opportunities for remote work are rare.
  • Work will entail some after hours and weekend responsibilities.

Job Description

The Associated Students of Northern Arizona University (ASNAU) and the Office of Leadership & Engagement at Northern Arizona University bring together student organizations, student leaders, fraternity & sorority life, and engagement efforts to support and deepen the holistic student experience. Involvement and engagement allow students to enrich their academic and social experience at NAU. ASNAU represents the undergraduate Mountain Campus student voice and supports individual students and student clubs and organizations, particularly with events and funding. Leadership & Engagement is a hub for students interested in connection, leadership, involvement, and service.

The joint Coordinator, Sr. position provides support for the clubs and organizations that allow students to gain experience, meet new people, and get involved on campus while ensuring their programs are consistent with institutional priorities. The role will provide services to all clubs, with emphasis on event planning, navigating funding opportunities, and support for our largest, high impact organizations. The Coordinator, Sr. develops, coordinates, and promotes an innovative set of cocurricular programming and aims to support student leadership opportunities.

The position will be a key collaborator with departments such as the Office of Inclusion, Unions and Student Activities, Admissions, Alumni Engagement, and Health Promotion.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree in related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master\'s degree.
  • 1-3 years of student organization development and/or leadership development experience.
  • 1-3 years of event coordination experience.
  • 1-2 years of project management experience.

Knowledge

  • Excellent knowledge of student, group and leadership development and its application.
  • Knowledge of and ability to communicate university policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to the principles of diversity, equity and creation of inclusive communities.
  • Knowledge of student development theory.
  • Knowledge of primary factors that impact student retention and common strategies used to increase student success.
  • Knowledge of student organization development and management.

Skills

  • Able to alter course/direction when necessary.
  • Organizational and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to work with d verse students, staff, faculty, and other entities.

Salary

Anticipated salary range is \$44,422 - \$51,776. Annual salary commensurate with candidate\'s qualifications and related experience.
