About the Department/College

The Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) is housed in the Department of Clinical Psychology in the College of Education and is located on Northern Arizona University\'s North Valley Campus in Phoenix, Arizona. The program is APA accredited-on-contingency and trains students toward a doctorate in clinical psychology (PsyD degree) that is license eligible. Currently, the student body is close to 200 graduate students with eleven core faculty members.

About the Position

The Department of Clinical Psychology is inviting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, Assistant Teaching Professor in the PsyD program in Clinical Psychology. The position starts as early as January 2025 or when the position is filled. The position is a 10-month academic year position (August through May) with opportunities for summer teaching.

The faculty member hired for this position will teach graduate courses to students enrolled in the PsyD program at the North Valley campus in Phoenix. Successful candidates will have a passion for, and skill in providing, high-quality clinical care, as well as graduate-level teaching, clinical supervision, and mentoring of PsyD students.

Responsibilities Include:

Teaching and Advising

  • Teach, in-person, graduate clinical sychology classes for the doctoral program in Clinical Psychology.
  • Assist in recruiting, retaining, and advising doctoral students in Clinical Psychology.
  • Direct graduate student clinical research projects.

Service

  • Fulfill service responsibilities to the department, college, university, and the profession (i.e. by serving on committees)
  • Work collaboratively with behavioral health service agencies to coordinate practicum and internship experiences for clinical psychology students as needed.
  • Assist in course and program planning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position is an on-site position which requires the incumbent to complete their work primarily at an NAU site, campus, or facility with or without accommodation. Opportunities for remote work are rare.

North Valley/Phoenix based, full time, 10-month, non-tenure track position, starting as early as January 2025, or when filled. Summer teaching opportunities possible.
