The Robert Half Healthcare Practice is working with a local Healthcare Company to add a Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team. This role will be expected to handle 50 claims per day on average.

Hours: Monday - Friday Start time between 7am -9:30am, then will work an 8 hour day.

*Flexible schedule and can make up time throughout the week/weekend if necessary.

Responsibilities for the position include the following:

• Billing and Insurance: Handle billing for third-party insurance payors, answer insurance-related questions, and prepare monthly billing statements.

• Census and Month-End: Complete daily census and month-end balance and close for designated facilities.

• Medicaid Claims: Bill Medicaid claims for all facilities and follow up on rejected or improperly paid claims.

• Accounts Receivable: Participate in AR aging reviews, identify billing/collection issues, assist facilities in collecting outstanding receivables, and work towards budgeted goals.

• Patient Financial Status: Verify patient/resident financial status and insurance coverage, explain insurance coverage, and discuss billing questions with residents and responsible parties.

• Compliance: Maintain knowledge of third-party insurance requirements to ensure compliance with regulations.

• Financial Adjustments: Identify and process refunds, bad debt write-offs, and contractual adjustments with proper approval.

  Requirements

• Minimum 1 year Medical Billing Experience a must

• Systems: Advantax, Meditech, AdvanceMD, Therabill

• Preferred but not required: Certified Medical Biller (CMB) or Certified Coder (CPC).

• Strong understanding of medical billing procedures, insurance regulations, and coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT).
