Description FIRST SHIFT ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsible for verifying the accuracy of our daily material and dunnage inventories via cycle counting as required. Will perform audits of reported production to verify accuracy and initiate corrective action to eliminate problems as required. Authorized to update and issue material releases to suppliers to maintain production schedules. Maintain a communication bond between plant and suppliers. Address supplier concerns regarding quality, delivery, and services. Schedule and coordinate outside processing with vendors. Monitor inventory levels and maintain and update inventory through accepted means such as cycle counting etc. Identify areas of concern with regards to shipping or production schedules. Authorized to monitor dunnage inventory and coordinate delivery to ensure that production is supported. Prepare reports as requested by the Materials Manager Attend daily production meetings and plant staff events. Authorized to scale count parts to verify quantity. Assist in maintaining customer delivery ratings. Support process adherence and data accuracy of the Plex system. Assist in the training, technical support, problem resolution, and change management of the Plex ERP system. Promote team and internal advancement. Responsible for continuous improvement in the shipping and receiving areas as well as material processes. Performs other essential functions as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Materials Management or Business-related field preferred and at least 2 to 5 years' experience in purchasing or production control, preferably with an automotive supplier. SPECIAL SKILLS: Computer literate with experience in spreadsheet applications and Inventory Control. MAJOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Employee is required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor. May exert up to 20 pounds of force on occasion. WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment. May be subject to plant conditions such as loud noise due to operating machinery, physical hazards due to operating and moving machinery, and breathing fumes and dust.
