This position is on-site: Fife, WA Position Summary Directs, coordinates and participates in activities of workers engaged in servicing and repair of manufacturing equipment, plant facilities and ground maintenance by performing the following duties personally or through maintenance department employees Primary Accountabilities (Essential Duties)

  • Responds to operational equipment outages and/or confers with appropriate individuals to arrange for scheduled operational equipment downtime to be released from service for inspection, service, or repair;
  • Establishes policies for inspection, maintenance, and repair of operational equipment and plant facilities; schedules repairs; assigns and directs activities of maintenance department personnel; and follows up on repairs being made.
  • Authorizes and arranges for purchase of supplies, tools, and machinery.
  • Consults with venders, suppliers and/or equipment representatives regarding operation, servicing and maintenance of respective products;
  • Obtains quotes for repair services not performed internally.
  • Investigates and evaluates cause and extent of damage to operational equipment and plant facilities; reports findings to appropriate personnel; makes recommendations and/or initiates actions for improvement;
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization;
  • Develops, revises and/or recommends standard maintenance or operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards; Determines best practices and institutes improvements;
  • Resolves worker issues/complaints and/or refers to higher authority for resolution.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves maintenance data.
  • Maintains necessary maintenance supplies and spare parts inventory.
  • Instruct, teach and/or demonstrate troubleshooting methods of pneumatic, hydrolic and electrical systems.
  • Screens, hires, trains staff, evaluates employee performance, and recommends or initiates promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action for warehouse personnel.

Education and/or Experience: Degree: Bachelor's degree preferred 5 Years of Experience in Manufacturing: Supervisory Responsibilities: In addition to the accountabilities listed above, individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.
