PURPOSE OF THE JOBThe Logistics and Warehouse Lead is an active member on the Delmar Team. This role is responsible for creating best in class performance in areas distribution and storeroom procedures, supply chain management, warehousing, and shipping. The person will evaluate the effectiveness of all processes, programs, and procedures within supply chain and sourcing and ensure the safety, quality, and productivity of the operations. The Sourcing and Warehouse Lead is responsible for optimizing inventory levels, improving plant and business cost structure, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Reports to: The Plant ControllerSpan of Control: Salaried direct report(s) and all hourly warehouse and storeroom personnel
Directing Warehouse Operations• Develops and executes overall Supply Chain Strategy of the Delmar plant. This includes production planning, sourcing, procurement, MRP and warehousing strategy.• Manages finished goods inventory levels to ensure compliance with established minimum and maximum authorizations• Partners with Operations, Technical and Sales Teams to ensure successful planning and execution of product trials• Manages Warehouse and Shipping operations to ensure on-time and efficient delivery and customer satisfaction• Controls and maintains accurate records on all physical inventories; manages slow moving and obsolete inventories• Manages Supply Chain of materials in a cost effective and timely manner to meet production needs and expectations for product quality• Manages logistic cost for transportation and warehouse leasing while looking for ways to minimize unnecessary costs• Forecasting all elements of cost for all housing expenses and finishing goods loss• Owns and manages department budget-labor, capital, and facility improvements• Proactively identifies improvement opportunities and implements solutions accordingly to drive operational excellence of the department, better meet the needs of relevant stakeholders, and mitigate risks that may disrupt production andnegatively impact product quality• Drives a team atmosphere focuses on zero losses by leading through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Methodology; daily management systems, engagement, communication
Supply Management and Productivity Improvement• Builds & maintains strong relationships with suppliers to ensure supply security, service quality, & optimization of total cost• Manages the procurement of products & services, including the negotiation and management of associated contracts & agreements with responsibility for the timely delivery of quality products and services within budgeted cost targets
*Accountable to establish, optimize, & deliver against working capital targets / goals while meeting customer demand
• Develops and implements measurement systems to monitor the effectiveness of sourcing and inventory management processes for the overall accuracy of our processes• Continuously improves sourcing processes with the objective of minimizing back-office sourcing transaction costs• Continuously improves total costs by identifying and acting to capture cost reduction opportunities without jeopardizing security of supply while maintaining the goals of strategic supply planning• Drives productivity and innovation• Leads Sourcing contribution to manufacturing productivity by working with suppliers, operations, & technology teams• Drives supplier sustainability efforts
Storeroom / Inventory Responsibility• Lead operations and 8+ personnel, managing timecards and discipline• Manage workgroup to proactively achieve zero injuries / safety incidents• Resource shift in order to meet shipping and customer demands• Sustain high levels of product quality, with a target of zero SEC’s. Root cause SEC issues and ensure proper controls are in place to prevent future issues• Communicate expectations and hold team members accountable for delivering results• Foster an environment that promotes teamwork and inclusion• Maintain plant housekeeping expectations for the shipping and warehouse areas• Communicate any concerns or issues that occur during the shift• Hold start of shift huddle to communicate expectations• Ensure that shift employees have adequate coverage for breaks while filling orders• Ensure verification of inbound and outbound freight• Process daily activity reports• Hold communications as needed with customer service center, transportation personnel, sales force, regional planning• Maintain good working relationship with carriers and customers• Ensure effective roll-out of IVC Inventory management system• Develop new shipping team members to meet department expectations and requirements• Follow all compliance expectations of Sarbanes Oxley

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, logistics or related experiencePREFERRED EXPERIENCE:• Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, Access, Outlook• Proficiency in SAP• Experience in making high-impact decisions in fast-paced environment• Experience with lean manufacturing preferred• Data Driven Decisions• Managing operations in fast paced, day-to-day, operations work environment that holds people accountable to deliver –able to work in matrixes environment
