Description

This position will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial reporting and controls by managing the Property function of the organization. This position requires a results-driven, self-starter with a proven record of leading teams in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the forecasting, accounting for, and reporting of the utility’s fixed assets
Accountability for maintenance of the fixed asset system
Accountable for the capitalization and unitization policies of the organization
Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Qualifications
Must haves:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Minimum of 5 years management experience with multiple direct reports
Utility industry accounting experience
Detailed knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Detailed knowledge of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Uniform System of Accounts
Knowledge of depreciation methods and practices
Ability to lead teams effectively with a continuous improvement mindset
The perfect candidate would have:
CPA certification
Utility industry accounting experience in the Property function
Utility industry accounting experience in an Investor-owned utility
In-depth knowledge of and experience with capitalization guidance and practices
Experience in PowerPlan fixed asset software
