Job Description

The CNC operator purpose is to program, set up, and run CNC machinery. Perform preventative maintenance of machine, tooling, and workspace.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Work effectively with internal team members to understand and troubleshoot data for jobs

  • Use WorkNC CAM software to create programs for cutting and executing design intent

  • Setup jobs on the Tarus CNC mill, and run programs safely and efficiently

  • Clean and maintain CNC machine, Tooling, and work area.

  • Understand specifications by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.

  • Supervise machines while tasks are being executed to ensure the machine is running properly.

  • Inspect and measure finished parts to compare to requirements set by the company and clients.

  • Other assignments as required by the Department Manager.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Able to interface well with internal personnel at various levels.

  • Self-motivated and driven to meet challenging goals.

  • Flexible work hours

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills desirable.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.

  • Must be able to read & thoroughly understand basic design blueprints

  • Work NC Cam Software Experience required.

  • Tarus CNC controller experience is required.

  • Tarus CNC machine experience required

  • Must be able to read, measuring tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Scales, Indicators)

  • Must be able to lift 40lbs

  • Must be able to use basic hand tools

Physical requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks may be required

  • Must have manual dexterity

  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.

  • Must wear safety glasses and safety boots

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

  • Must be able to bend, squat, stoop, kneel, and perform moderate lifting.

  • Must be to sit for long periods of time traveling to and from the job site
