This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-time Ports and Marine Senior Lead Engineer/Project Manager for our Federal Way, WA and Anchorage, AK offices . For over 40-years WSP has been a leader in waterfront structural design in the Puget Sound, for the U.S. Navy, and worldwide. The WSP Maritime group is a dynamic and energetic group with strong work ethics and a great culture of collaboration and camaraderie. You would be joining the largest and best waterfront/marine design group in the country. The projects are diverse in nature, interesting, and challenging.

Be involved in projects with our Ports and Maritime Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. Our Maritime group comprises of highly motivated analysts, planners, and civil/structural engineers working in several key locations across the US and internationally. Major clients are port authorities, U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, terminal operators, contractors and private entities. Our strength is derived from the diversity of our marine-related work and our staff.

Your Impact

  • Perform structural analysis and design for marine and upland components

  • Perform berthing and mooring analyses

  • Develop plans, specifications, schedules and cost estimates for variety of port and Navy projects

  • Understand maritime codes and references including UFC, PIANC, ASCE-61

  • Prepare basis of design, design calculations, technical reports, alternatives analysis, and study reports

  • Understand interdisciplinary requirements for port projects

  • Attend client meetings and perform site visits

  • Mentor developing port and maritime engineers

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in analysis and design of port structures

  • Bachelors in Civil/Structural Engineering

  • Professional Engineering license

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP"s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering

  • Previous experience in analyses and design of medium to large scale ports/maritime/Navy structures and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates

  • National professional practice organization involvement

  • Hands-on analyses and design experience (SAP2000, OPTIMOOR, L-PILE, SLIDE)

Compensation and Benefits:

WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career. Expected Salary: $78,300-$157,000
