JOB DESCRIPTION Job Number: 212078 Department: VM Federal Way - Gen Surgery Hours: 40 hoursVirginia Mason Medical Center is recruiting a full-time Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) to join our General and Bariatric Surgery team in Federal Way. Position highlightsOur Advanced Practice Providers are vital members of our General Surgery group and our MBSAQIP-accredited Bariatric Surgery Comprehensive Center of Excellence. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing services both independently and collaboratively. There is the opportunity for a high level of autonomy as you build your clinical practice. Your practice would include initial consultations in both general and bariatric surgery, oversight of multidisciplinary preoperative evaluations, and ensuring high quality continuity of care after surgery. * Provide consultations for patients interested in pursuing bariatric surgery* Coordinate and monitor patients as they progress through bariatric surgery evaluations* Collaborate with dieticians, mental health professionals, and physicians to provide the best care for our patients* Routine evaluation of post-operative patients and management of complications as necessary* Perform office-based procedures as experience and desire allows* Assist with bariatric surgery support groups 1-2 times per year* Participate in the development and maintenance of patient management algorithms* Participate in quality improvement initiativesQualifications:Nurse PractitionerWashington State Registered Nurse License and an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License are required for this job. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers may be required depending on the position, as well as prescriptive authority.
