Here's the Gist:

Wolfspeed is seeking an experienced Reliability Technician to join our team. The Reliability Technician will work with the Test and Qualification team to support the reliability and qualification of our power module portfolio. This position will provide the candidate the opportunity for hands on laboratory projects alongside data post-processing and failure mode analysis with engineers.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Perform testing to meet qualification and reliability test plans
  • Operate a variety of test benches, including power cycling, environmental chambers, and electrical bias equipment
  • Design and implement hardware to support the various test benches and power modules designs
  • Work closely with failure analysis and design engineering teams to understand failure modes and determine root cause with the goal of implementing design changes in modules to improve reliability
  • Overtime and some flexible scheduling are required to meet the demands of this position
  • Must be excited to learn new skills if not already experienced in areas such as PCB Layout, parametric analysis, and data analysis
  • Equipment troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):

  • Candidate must be a US citizen or Green Card holder
  • Working knowledge and understanding of electrical safety
  • Must be comfortable with computer-aided test setups
  • Must be able to manipulate data using software (e.g., Excel, Python, JMP, etc.)
  • Neat / organized / can execute and thoroughly document reliability plans
  • Schedule is Sunday through Thursday (shift differential added)

Preferred skills and certifications

  • AS or BS degree desired
  • Experience implementing 5S
  • Experience with power module reliability testing
  • Experience with electronic test standards such as JEDEC, IEC, MIL-STD, or AEC
  • Experience working with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other CAD software
  • Knowledge of failure analysis equipment and procedures such as EDX, SEM, SAM, etc.
