Senior Embedded Software Development Engineer (Linux/C++)

Emergency Care Professional (EC Pro) products are integral to monitoring and providing medical therapy to patients in the pre-hospital environment.

Your role:

  • Support the software for EC Pro products: including support for customer investigations, software defect investigations, software lifecycle maintenance activities and projects enhancing system and software features and behavior.

  • Contribute to development tasks; in relation to business requirements into embedded electronic systems and software architecture

  • Interpret requirements, reading electronic circuit diagrams, data sheets and understanding the approach to decomposing designs into effective electronic systems.

  • Contribute to rigorous engineering based in a scientific approach to design reviews and verification testing aiming to meet customer needs with a strong focus on risk and safety. Following quality procedures in line with engineering processes needed to attain and maintain medical device regulatory approvals.

  • Maintaining team relationships and working technically with software related suppliers and with counterparts in EC Pro.

You’re right for this role if:

  • You have extensive commercial experience in embedded electronic/software systems including C/C++, Linux / Bare Metal, Linux Drivers, u-boot, Python, Yocto.

  • You have good knowledge in Qt ,Code analysis, UML, complexity, cohesion, coupling, coverage and on continuous integration– GIT, SVN, Buildbot

  • Your career has been spent in a regulated industry, ideally medical devices, but will also consider Pharmaceutical, Aerospace, Automotive or similar.

  • Your Engineering degree (or similar) is in a relevant technical speciality and is supported by commercial experience in the software development lifecycle.

  • You have a flexible attitude, willing to accept & drive change, working with ambiguity, frequent changed and a rigorous approach to problem solving.
