Role Purpose: Provide expertise in the fields of domestic and international logistic planning and implementation.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Determine the most effective and efficient method of shipping/pick-ups, negotiate rates and provide documentation as required for each shipment .
Plan weekly shipments in advance by reviewing the Probably to Ship list from the Materials Supervisor.
Notify freight forwarders of tentative pick updates, estimates of pieces, weights, and dimensions with a sense of urgency.
Work with freight forwarder POA and Bonds.
Communicate and interact effectively with internal and external customers, suppliers, and carriers using all modes of communication (written, verbal, and at times, face-to-face).
Meet with finance and marketing representatives to evaluate contracts and letters of credit, if required.
Oversee import and export protocol and logistics.
Manage logistic providers, ensuring compliance.
Monitors logistics provider performance, develops and implements mitigation plans.
Identify and solve logistic issues.
Lead the quotation process and make new sourcing recommendations.
Work with the Sales team to coordinate customer requirements.
Maintains current list of HTS classifications.
Manage Power of Attorney and custom bond contracts
Meet requirements for daily customer invoicing.
Management of import and export government regulations and apply that knowledge to our daily shipments.
Other duties as assigned.

High degree of independence
Need to have a flexible work schedule, to insure OTD of our products.
Knowledge of Letter of Credit
Familiar with banking documentation
Full understanding of global customs and tariffs and the ability to identify trade compliance opportunities.
Understand free trade agreements and special programs, foreign trade zones and duty drawback.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.
5 years’ experience working with domestic and international documents and shipments.
Must be experienced with freight forwarding companies.
Solid experience with Word and Excel required.
SyteLine and/or ERP system experience preferred.
