Job Title: Staff AccountantJob Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent Excel skills, and experience with general ledger and month-end processes. This role offers significant development opportunities, working closely with the Controller in a booming healthcare industry.
Responsibilities
Oversee and reconcile bank accounts and transactions.
Precisely allocate direct expenses and generate monthly direct expense analysis reports.
Handle property and sales tax returns, ensuring backup documentation is maintained.
Record and reconcile transactions related to Health Savings Accounts, maintaining comprehensive records.
Identify and manage 1099 vendors, and handle the preparation of annual 1099 tax forms.
Record and reconcile transactions related to the retirement plan, keeping detailed records.
Balance sheet general ledger accounts and maintain detailed backup schedules.
Offer backup support for accounts payable.
Provide support with expense analysis.
Essential Skills
At least 1 to 2 years of experience in accounting.
Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and SUMIF formulas.
Experience with general ledger and month-end processes.
Familiarity with Netsuite.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in accounts payable.
Strong reporting skills.
Work Environment
This position is fully onsite in a nice office located in an office building in Farmington, CT. You will work directly with the Controller in a small team, within the booming healthcare industry in CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
