The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Palo Alto XSOAR Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert-level consulting services to our clients. You will work closely with our internal customers to design, implement, and manage the automation of security operations using the Palo Alto XSOAR platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert-level SME to internal customers and engineering team on the Palo Alto XSOAR platform.

  • Work closely with internal customers to design, implement, and manage automation of security operations using XSOAR.

  • Develop custom playbooks, integrations, and scripts to automate security operations workflows.

  • Identify and document security operations processes and workflows to automate.

  • Provide guidance and training to internal customers on the use of the XSOAR platform and associated technologies.

  • Collaborate with other security experts to identify and resolve complex security issues.

  • Participate in internal customer meetings and presentations to provide expert-level advice and recommendations. Troubleshoot & actively monitor automation platforms & tooling including: hardware, operating system, and applications.

  • Participate in a on-call rotation.

  • Expectation to travel to onsite 10%

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum 10 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree and a minimum 7 years experience.

  • 3+ years experience implementing security automation playbooks in XSOAR/Demisto.

  • 5 - 7+ years designing, implementing Unix/Linux infrastructure.

  • 3+ years proficiency in programming/scripting (Javascript, Python, Perl, Bash, etc.) in a production environment.

  • Experience in leveraging REST API interfaces for integration purposes.

  • Understanding of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM – Splunk, ELK, etc.) with knowledge of log collection, parsing of log files and how this data can be effectively used to mitigate risk and respond to threats.

  • Understanding of cyber security concepts.

  • Aptitude for troubleshooting, creative thinking, and problem solving.

  • Displays a sense of urgency to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.

  • Exhibits initiative and ability to quickly acquire knowledge.

  • Experience working in a consulting or professional services type environment.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Security Automation Engineer (PCSAE) certification.

  • Experience working in a consulting or professional services or customer focused type environment.

  • Knowledge of other security technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.

  • Experience using & implementing solutions using public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Information Security and IT certifications: GIAC, CompTIA, CISSP, Cisco, Red Hat, AWS, etc.

Location: Remote - willingness to travel 10%

Work Authorization: US Citizen or US Person Required

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
