With the creation of our new umbrella organization we now have our own identity with a unique payroll, benefits, performance management system, service recognition programs and other common practices across the system. _Position Summary:_ The Reimbursement Financial Analyst is responsible for preparation, filing and audit/settlement activity of the annual Medicare and Tricare cost reports. The position assists in the annual state OHS filings and the preparation of any reopening and appeal papers for Hartford Healthcare. Additionally, this position collaborates with management in the reimbursement regulatory, operational, and financial impacts of proposed operational decisions _Position Responsibilities:_ Key Areas of Responsibility 1. Responsible for the preparation of supporting work papers and filing of the annual Medicare and Tricare Cost Reports; ensuring strict compliance with all regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines. Acts as point person for cost report, wage index and other related audits, providing supporting documentation, reviewing adjustments and responding to audit findings in a timely and efficient manner 2. Assists in the preparation and submission of State OHS annual filings, including Facility Fee reporting 3. Responsible for quarterly Third Party – Government Reserve analysis 4. Maintain a working knowledge of current laws and regulations of the Federal Medicare and State Medicaid programs, including changes affecting hospital reimbursement of Medicare bad debt, graduate medical education, disproportionate share hospital adjustment, and uncompensated care payments 5. Work as an effective team member to complete other reimbursement projects as assigned _Working Relationships:_ This Job Reports To (Job Title):Director/Manager Reimbursement Education · Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Hospital Administration or a closely related field · Preferred:Knowledge of general principles and practices of financial management in the health care field, including both expense and reimbursement requirements preferred Experience · Minimum: 3 years of financial analysis experience · Preferred:Knowledge of Healthcare finance Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: · Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills · Proficiency in Microsoft Excel · Ability to research Governmental Reimbursement topics as needed · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously · Team player with a positive approach _We take great care of careers.___ With locations around the state, Hartford HealthCare offers exciting opportunities for career development and growth.
