Farmingdale State College's Health and Wellness Center seeks a Psychiatric NP. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:
Working in collaboration with physicians, family nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, social workers, patient's home providers, and mental health counselors to provide high quality patient care to a diverse College community in accordance with established standards and medical ethics, and in accordance with policies and procedures of the Health and Wellness Center/Campus Mental Health Services.
Provide high quality direct patient care in accordance with established standards (i.e. current medical and nursing protocols authorized by NY State).
Selected candidate will be required to meet students for psychiatric intake evaluations, psychiatric follow up sessions and drop in or walk-in sessions; assess their problems, providing crisis intervention and consult with other medical specialists, refer for ongoing treatment as indicated.
Prescribing medications and other treatments appropriate for individual's condition, evaluating effectiveness, and making adjustments as appropriate.
Prepare and maintain accurate and thorough counseling records.
This position will provide high quality psychiatric assessments and treatment of FSC students. This position will be a per-diem position with hours worked based upon patient need. Evening hours may be required.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner;
Valid DEA Prescribing License;
BLS Certification;
Current unencumbered NYS License as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner;
Three (3) years of post licensure outpatient experience working independently as a Psychiatric NP.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience charting in an Electronic Health Record;
Experience working in a higher education environment;
Experience collaborating with quality improvement projects;
Ability to work with a multicultural population ensuring an inclusive environment;
Experience working with a multidisciplinary team focused on holistic patient care.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time, per-diem position.
