Catholic Health Services Priest Chaplain in Farmingdale, New York

Overview Good Shepherd Hospice is a member of Catholic Health and an integral part of the health care ministry of the Diocese of Rockville Centre. The Priest Chaplain is directly involved with patients, families and staff through identifying their religious and spiritual needs and planning and assisting in meeting those needs. Providing pastoral care consistent with Catholic Health’s mission to humbly join together to bring Christ’s healing mission and the mission of mercy of the Catholic church to our communities. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of the emotional effects of death, grief, and loss, and will have the ability to be open, flexible, and ecumenical in ministry. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to the terminally ill for effective interaction with patients and families. Job Details Minimum Requirements: A knowledge of Pastoral counseling skills is preferred. Ordained Priest in good standing with Diocesan officials Knowledge and appreciation of Christian witness inherent in the philosophy of hospice care Training and experience in Ethical, Theological and medical-moral issues Salary Range USD $30,906.00 - USD $35,152.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job, and it does not include the value of benefits.
