Farmingdale State College Custodial Services Manager in Farmingdale, New York

Farmingdale State College seeks applications for a Custodial Services Manager. This position will oversee custodial operations, manage event setups, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the college community. The Custodial Services Manager will be responsible for the custodial maintenance of approximately 40 buildings, including three residence halls with approximately 700 beds. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Facilities Operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of custodial services, including cleaning, sanitation, and safety standards across campus facilities.

  • Coordinate custodial and logistical support for campus events, acting as a liaison between campus departments, external partners, and event organizers to ensure seamless operations.

  • Oversee hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of custodial staff. Manage time cards, performance reviews, and staffing plans to meet operational needs.

  • Maintain department inventory, requisition supplies and equipment, and ensure efficient budget management.

  • Collaborate with other areas of Facilities Operations to address maintenance needs and enhance the quality of the campus environment.

This position requires flexibility, with availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet operational requirements.

This title is in Appendix A of the SUNY Policies of the Board of Trustees and, as a consequence, incumbents serving in this title are not eligible for permanent appointment (tenure), but instead receive renewable term appointments.

    Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have at least 15 years of custodial experience.

  • Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience.

  • Knowledge of cleaning practices and procedures, cleaning equipment, inventory control, event coordination, knowledge of green products and uses.

  • Possess proficiency with computers.

  • Possess a valid NYS driver's license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a unionized environment.

    Additional Information:

This is a full-time UUP position.

  • For the first 10 working days, beginning Monday, December 23, 2024, and ending Tuesday, January 7, 2025, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.

  • CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Tuesday, January 21, 2025

  • SALARY: $92,000 + $3,400 in downstate location pay = $95,400 Total Compensation.
