Farmingdale State College invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Business Management at the Assistant Professor level. Excellent communications and collaboration skills are required. Ability to teach from among a range of courses such as Introduction and Advanced Data Analytics, Visual Analytics, Business Intelligence, Business Data Management, Social Media Analytics. The teaching load is 12 contact hours (4 courses) per semester, and candidates should be able to teach in traditional classroom, hybrid, and online formats. The college offers courses at several locations and the successful candidate will be expected to teach at both the Farmingdale campus as well as extension sites.

All faculty members at Farmingdale State College have three workload components: teaching, research and scholarly activity, and service. Service includes advising students as well as serving on departmental and college wide committees. The successful candidate will demonstrate an interest and high level of competence in teaching. Candidates should have a research agenda that complements their area of academic specialty and provide evidence indicating potential for peer-reviewed publications and presentations, both of which are necessary for promotion and tenure at Farmingdale State College. The successful candidate for this position will be expected to maintain their qualifications as a Scholarly Academic as per the Business Management department's faculty qualifications guidelines.

    Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ph.D. in Business Analytics, Management Science, Business Management, Information Systems or closely related field with an emphasis on Business Analytics and Data Science, Informatics, Data Visualization, or Marketing analytics from a regionally accredited college or university. ABD with all degree requirements with a dissertation defense scheduled prior to July 30, 2024, will be considered.

  • Strong commitment to teaching and an established research agenda required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An established record of scholarship in the field.

  • Experience as a graduate / teaching assistant or college level instructor of one or more college courses in the field in a business school setting.

  • Expertise and ability to teach in two or more of the following areas: Introductory and Advanced Business Analytics, Visual Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Business Data Management, Supply Chain Analytics, and Social Media Analytics.

    Additional Information:

This is a 10-month UUP faculty position.

  • For the first 10 working days, beginning Friday, January 19, 2024, and ending Thursday, February 1, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.

  • CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Open Until Filled with Priority Review beginning February 19, 2024.

  • SALARY: $90,000 + $3,400 in downstate location pay = $93,400 Total Compensation. Salary may increase commensurate with experience.

  • ANTICIPATED START DATE: September 1, 2024
