Job Summary
Responsible for developing curriculum and providing classroom and laboratory instruction of diagnostic medical sonography and other related healthcare courses as required by educational facility for properly delivering the instructional requirements to the diagnostic medical sonography students. Responsible for coordinating clinical site activities with all system affiliates. Extensive experience in using sophisticated imaging, doppler, recording, and associated equipment. Possesses a thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, hemodynamic principles and imaging techniques. Aptitude and ability to deliver learned and textbook information to students in a classroom and laboratory setting.
Possesses excellent communication skills. Ability to work efficiently with student groups. Enjoys students and teaching activities. Responsible for monitoring student progression through clinicals. Instructs and evaluates students within the laboratory and classroom. Reviews daily evaluations, scanning logs, and clinical attendance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree is required. Graduation from CAAHEP accredited sonography program is required.
Minimum of two years clinical experience is required.
Registration through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing
International (CCI) is required.
Possesses the appropriate credential(s) specific to one or more of the concentration(s) offered.
If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board is required.
