ASN Constructors Bridges Manager in Fargo, North Dakota

Description

ASN Constructors is a joint venture of three international contractors (Acciona, Shikun and Binui and North American Construction Group) who will work with the Metro Flood Diversion Authority and other area stakeholders to build a historic project that will protect the citizens of the Fargo-Moorhead area from flood waters from the Red River. The Bridges Manager is responsible for ensuring the timely and costly completion of Bridge Structures by overseeing all phases of the Bridge construction. Specifically, the Bridge Manager is responsible for leading and managing overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Bridge Structures portion of construction of the Project. Reporting to the Construction Manager, this role is responsible for managing the budget and schedule from tender, planning the work and instituting safe industry practices, directing and leading the implementation of the Bridge Structures work according to the approved design and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage planning and construction engineering required to complete construction elements.
  • Determine and define scope of work and deliverables.
  • Assess resources required to complete Bridge Structures portion of the project.
  • Ensure necessary permits, approvals, and other regulatory prerequisites are satisfied and in place.
  • Manage execution costs.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team in respect of supply of materials and subcontractor selections.
  • Develop an equipment utilization plan and ensure effective equipment implementation.
  • Manage construction schedule and activities.
  • Issue progress updates as needed regarding costs and timelines.
  • Ensure work carried out in compliance with the Project Agreement.
  • Ensure that subcontractor and supplier relationships are maintained.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Possess confidence and ability to execute without significant oversight, but having an equal willingness and sense to seek input from supervisors, peers, and company experts when needed
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage a diverse, cohesive and effective team; ability to manage different disciplines and functions within the group
  • Delegate and monitor work and provide constructive feedback

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering
  • 10+ years in a Civil Engineering leadership role
  • Considerable years working on multi-million-dollar projects (100 million +++) in a leadership role
  • Experience on large highway, earthworks, bridge/structures, paving, and/or related projects
  • Proven project management experience
  • Experience creating and/or modifying construction processes and procedures
  • Strong understanding and interpretation of Engineering specifications and drawings
  • Strong analytical skillset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience establishing strong working relationships with clients (i.e. State DOT) and stakeholders preferred
