Where you’ll work:

This is a hybrid onsite/remote opportunity where you will report to the customer location in Falls Church, VA and have the flexibility to work from home based on business needs.

An average day:

As Scrum Master III, you will ensure increased delivery predictability and productivity, reduced bottlenecks, and faster time to delivery across data engineering, AI/ML governance, and model development teams. This role optimizes Agile processes, maintains a consistent delivery cadence, and fosters enhanced collaboration. The Scrum Master III facilitates Agile ceremonies, removes impediments, and enables teams to deliver high-quality solutions that align with organizational goals. In this position you will:

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure team alignment and focus.

  • Drive consistent delivery cadence and monitor progress to improve delivery predictability and team productivity.

  • Identify and remove impediments or bottlenecks that impact team progress, escalating issues as necessary.

  • Coach teams on Agile principles and practices, including Scrum, Kanban, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

  • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to ensure clear communication of priorities and alignment with mission objectives.

  • Track and report on team metrics, such as velocity, burndown, and cycle time, to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration and trust within teams and with external stakeholders.

  • Support the implementation of tools and processes to enhance Agile adoption and efficiency.

  • Ensure teams maintain focus on high-value deliverables aligned with organizational goals.

  • Facilitate backlog refinement sessions to prioritize and clarify user stories and technical tasks.

  • Promote cross-team coordination to align dependencies and ensure smooth delivery across technical areas.

  • Provide training and coaching to team members and stakeholders to strengthen Agile knowledge and skills.

  • Advocate for and implement best practices to optimize workflows and ensure high-quality outputs.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and security requirements in Agile processes.

  • Monitor and address risks related to delivery, resource availability, and technical challenges.

  • Enhance Stakeholder Engagement – Work closely with executives, product owners, and cross-functional teams to improve transparency, align expectations, and ensure Agile processes deliver measurable business value.

Basic Qualifications:

  • As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.

  • At least 7 years of experience in Agile/Scrum roles, including Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

  • Extensive experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and promoting Agile best practices.

  • Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe methodologies.

  • Proficiency in using Agile project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Rally.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve impediments to team progress.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and stakeholder alignment.

  • Experience with metrics tracking and analysis to drive continuous improvement.

  • Familiarity with technical areas such as data engineering, AI/ML governance, and model development is a plus.

  • Expertise in Change Management – Strong background in organizational change management to facilitate Agile adoption, overcoming resistance, and driving mindset shifts within teams and leadership.

  • One or more of the following certifications are desired:

  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent Agile certifications.

  • Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or similar certifications.

  • Advanced certifications in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or Agile Coaching.

Other:

  • Must hold an Active DOD Top Secret or TS/SCI Clearance

  • Must be located within a two (2) hour commute of the physical work location
