Schedule

AM shift schedule starts between 4am-6am, 8 hours or more per shift.

PM shift schedule 2:30pm- 11pm. 8 hours or more per shift.

Daily or 6th Day overtime is required as needed and is mandatory.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing production work in the facility. This position is responsible for operating the manual Bandsaw Machine.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • SAFELY cut beef and buffalo bones using a manual band saw

  • Follow ALL recommended safety procedures, SOP, and training instruction at ALL times

  • Monitor and report any band saw mechanical issues to lead, supervisor, and maintenance

  • Perform pre-shift and post-shift operation inspections to identify any safety hazards and mechanical issues

  • Sort, stack, organize bones pre-shift and during shift per size, type and condition

  • Set up, operate, and disassemble the machine as necessary.

  • Coordinate, document, communicate and report Machine information and malfunctions to appropriate personnel.

  • Must have functional knowledge of all equipment with regards to coordinating, change-over, CIP, monitor and operate Machines, Conveyors, Scales, Lube Systems, and other machine related functions to maximize the quality of products produced and the efficiency of the department.

  • Partner with QA on verification of correct SKU, temperature, and weights for each batch

  • Responsible for changeover cleaning process between proteins

  • Organization of daily use parts in the cabinet.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work station.

  • Trouble shoot and perform routine operator designated preventive maintenance on all area equipment.

  • Adhere to all Quality Assurance guidelines.

  • Must be responsible for compliance with the HACCP program.

  • Responsible for accurate documentation.

  • Assist with production as needed

  • Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies.

  • Mark parts for identification.

  • Scrape waste material from machine.

  • Efficiently and safely move product to the proper area for use following all department and QA procedures.

  • Sorting, wrapping, packing, repacking as needed.

  • Return raw materials, WIP’s or packaging materials to the respective department or location in accordance to the department’s procedures for receiving and returning materials when necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Punctual and Regular Attendance Required.

    Qualifications and Skills

  • Less than high school education; at least 1 year of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

  • Ability to add and subtract numbers and to multiply and divide and understand percentages. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement and quantity measurements.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk or stand and must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds without assistance. Additionally, you must be able to lift and or move more than 75 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision. You will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
