Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Fairfield, California

Description

We're seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join an established firm in Fairfield, California, with a client known for their excellence in the service industry.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner.

• Maintain an organized record of all customer credit details.

• Actively monitor customer credit accounts to identify any discrepancies or delinquencies.

• Take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments from customers.

• Perform administrative, clerical, and accounting duties such as data entry, cash disbursement, record keeping, and account reconciliation.

• Prepare necessary documentation for accountants and management, including Form 1099 and use tax filing.

• Review and process invoices, ensuring appropriate documentation and proper account coding.

• Verify coding approval, invoice approval authority limit, and payment approval before processing into accounting systems.

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with department managers and vendors.

• Provide complex administrative support to the department and other areas within the organization.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable Clerk role

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Check Runs, Coding Invoices, Data Entry, and Invoice Processing.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks concurrently.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in using computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.

• Familiarity with accounting software and systems is a plus.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve complex problems.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

• Commitment to continuous learning and improvement in the field of accounts payable.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute positively to the work environment.

• Proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to take initiative.

• High level of integrity and adherence to professional ethics.
