Job Description:

HOW YOU WILL MAKE YOUR IMPACT

  • Lead the technical operations team in the management and monitoring of systems from a cost, schedule, requirements, resource, and risk perspective.

  • Through collaboration, automation, and clear processes, ensure the technical operations team shares responsibility for system security, optimization, and reliability throughout the system development life cycle (SDLC) with cross-functional program teams.

  • Lead and manage a high-performing technical operations team by fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture and providing mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.

  • Manage the team responsible for the maintenance and administration of servers, databases, applications, network, and non-IT infrastructure (Systems Administers, Database Administrator, Release Manager, Systems Architect, and Testers).

  • Manage the monitoring and maintenance system uptime, minimizing breakdowns and maximizing process and system efficiencies.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and partners, to optimize cost and quality when supporting the program team with annual licensing renewals.

  • Manage the planning and administering of software and maintenance agreements to maximize integration, compatibility, and continuing operations of systems with minimal disruption.

  • Develop implementation plans, test plans, feasibility studies, and ensure comprehensive documentation of technical processes and procedures to support program operations.

  • Implement and champion best practices for AWS cloud services and infrastructure, DevSecOps practices, and agile methodologies.

  • Manage and prioritize information system needs and NIST 800-53 security compliance.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Required Experience: minimum 5 years of experience in managing and prioritizing information system needs and technical operations teams.

  • Required Education or Certifications: Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or other related discipline.

  • Preferred Certifications: AWS Cloud certification.

  • Required Skills: Technical team management, Vendor management, AWS, DevSecOps, Agile practices, and highly collaborative.

  • Preferred Technical Skills: Testing automation, knowledge of Federal Infomration Systems compliance (FISMA, FedRAMP).

  • US Citizenship Required for Public Trust.

  • Location: 100% remote.
