GDIT is seeking a highly motivated DevOps / Systems Engineer Sr Advisor to join our growing team to develop, support, and modernize mission-critical applications for our DHS customer. The successful candidate will support project teams in configuring and baselining software and in using automated tools to develop, deploy, and maintain mission-critical applications; prepare configuration documentation and review and recommend improvements to existing CM processes; and work proactively, collaboratively, and with an entrepreneurial spirit in providing O&M support (in the form of developmental engineering) to the customer and their Stakeholder communities in achieving their critical missions.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Design and define system architecture for new or existing computer systems

  • Set-up, maintain, and develop continuous build/ integration infrastructure

  • Create and maintain fully automated CI build processes for multiple environments

  • Develop build and deployment scripts

  • Support CI/CD tools integration, operations, change management, and maintenance

  • Support full automation of CI/CD Development and Testing

  • Support policies, standards, guidelines, governance and related guidance for CI/CD operations and development

  • Enable successful release management by moving code from Development and Testing environments to Staging and Production

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required

  • Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science preferred

  • Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience

  • Required Technical Skills: experience with build automation CM tools – Jenkins and Gitlab; knowledge of implementing CI/CI pipeline; experience in Jira to support DevOps implementation in an Agile environment

  • Security Clearance Level: Public Trust (DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability)

  • Required Skills and Abilities: adept at problem-solving, troubleshooting, collaboration, time management, multi-tasking, and task-ownership; excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Preferred Skills: degree in computer engineering, computer science, information systems, or related technical discipline; experience with build-time dependency management (Maven, Ivy), unit testing and code-coverage tools (JUnit), and functional test automation techniques and tools (Selenium, etc.); knowledge of source code control management systems and configuration management ( i.e. Git, Subversion, etc.), and of code branching/merging strategies; experience with Gitlab CI and runners; experience working with development teams on building and merging as well as managing code branching; some experience in Oracle RDBMS, PL/SQL, and SQL*Plus; some experience in UNIX/LINUX shell scripting; proven track record as a self-learner, keeping current with the latest techniques to include automated code scanning, automated testing, and continuous integration and continuous deployment concepts; Certifications - SAFe, SCRUM, or Kanban

The likely salary range for this position is $125,375 - $169,625. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
