Responsibilities

GovCIO is seeking a Release Manager for the Data Access Services (DAS) program within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information Technology (OIT).

This position resides in a highly technical environment. Candidates are expected to be comfortable working in areas such as IT architecture, infrastructure, interfaces, development, configuration management, data migration, and cyber security, amongst others.

Responsibilities

• The Release Manager will be responsible for supporting programs goals, resource planning, monitoring, and reporting progress, providing oversite of planning and release management as well as providing complete oversight of change control to ensure the team is meeting those goals, and monitor risk as required for the Data Access Services

• The Release Manager will be responsible in sharing pertinent information with the partner teams and other stakeholders as required.

• Work with project leads to create strategies to improve ongoing activities as needed.

• Scheduling calendar meeting invitations and managing calendar for the Program Management team, including recurring meetings, such as Data Access Services release meetings, Focus meetings, Change Control Board (CCB) reviews

• Leveraging excellent presentation development skills to synthesize complex information into succinct visualizations using PowerPoint and working with graphic designers to develop advanced visualizations.

• Managing all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects, providing a single point of contact for those projects releases and change control.

• Identifying and mitigating risks to the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's preferred with 5 plus years of experience

• Associates 8 plus years experience in lieu of degree

Required Skills and Experience

Must be knowledgeable of change management and project management functions. Develops release and work schedules according to project requirements. Responsible for Data Access Services Team release management and change control. Monitors project Sprints and makes recommendation for adjustments as needed. Coordinates interdepartmental participation to meet release and change control requirements. Maintains lines of communication among project team members.
