What You’ll Do:
Provided software in a compiled/binary form and integrates that software into custom operating systems built on top of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
Understand how to satisfy software requirements by configuring dependent services, installing and configuring additional software/library dependencies, and troubleshoot that software when things aren't working as expected.
Given projects and tasks to take from prototype to deployment and given lots of opportunity to steer that project to completion in the most efficient way appropriate.
Provided personnel and resources to complete the task and would provide status on that project to their immediate supervisor, the Software/Integration Team Lead.
Integrate, debug, and troubleshoot compiled software into the Linux operating system
Participate and contribute to an agile development and delivery process
Debug software and application-level network issues
Debug hardware/software interface faults
Create and utilize documentation to verify proper software functionality and system operation
Work with subject matter experts to ensure that the system can meet the tactical needs of the Navy customer
Help with the improvement of the system platform, along with contributing to the design of new features or enhancements
Interface with customers to troubleshoot software problems encountered in deployed software
What You’ll Need:
Understanding of the agile framework.
“Can Do” attitude toward solving problems and finding creative solutions.
Creating and maintaining virtual machines (KVM, VMWare, HyperV, Virtualbox, etc)
Creating and maintaining Linux containers (Docker, Kubernetes, Podman, etc)
Deep understanding of the Linux Operating System - CentOS/Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)/Fedora preferred
Experience troubleshooting and debugging software integration and operating system issues
Ability to write and troubleshoot shell scripts using Bash or Python
Proven leadership skills
Red Hat Certified System Administrator certification
Ability to configure and troubleshoot network devices
Write and debug python and/or C++ software
Windows Operating System Administration
Experience using Version Control Software (git, subversion, cvs, etc)
Agile experience preferred.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engiineering or a related technical field is required combined with 2 + years of relevant work experience; or Master’s Degree
