Database Analyst Advisor

HOW A DATABASE ANALYST ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and administering databases, including security, access, and documentation

  • Establish, implement, and maintain GFM Oracle RDBMS servers supporting both development and quality assurance testing operations.

  • Install Oracle RDBMS software and upgrade as necessary.

  • Develop patching schedule to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed in a timely manner.

  • Evaluate and apply DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).

  • Establish and maintain Oracle DBMS High Availability plan (Flashback, Snapshots, RMAN/Hot/Cold Backups, etc)

  • Address Oracle RDBMS downtime and/or performance issues in a timely manner

  • Create and troubleshoot RHEL Linux shell scripts

  • Create of notifications to advise of Oracle RDBMS issues

  • Support release deployment of DDL/DML scripts

  • Assist all GFM teams including customer with on-demand data and business-oriented queries by becoming familiar with data, data relationships and data structures across several applications and schemas that make up the GFM ecosystem

  • Support Agile development projects managed by time-sensitive schedules/sprints with Database changes ranging from structural to logical with emphasis on quality, performance, and standards.

  • Maintain Database configuration control across multiple Development, QA/Test, Government Test and Production environments.

  • Migrate Oracle AWS GovCloud EC2-based databases to AWS RDS for Oracle databases

  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual data-related tasks such as performance monitoring, weekly/monthly reports, and Carrier Rate Loads.

  • Flexible schedule to support weekly after-hour Production deployments and to answer emergency problems in an on-call status.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree

  • Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience in the following areas:

  • Administering Oracle DBMS,

  • Coding Oracle database solutions,

  • Experience using current DBMS technologies,

  • Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills ,

  • Troubleshooting skills related to Performance, Database structure, Database Stored Procedures etc.

  • Application design utilizing various database management systems and experience with DBMS internals.

  • Security Clearance Level: Secret

  • 3 years’ experience in establishing and deploying new Oracle database systems and solutions

  • Experience with AWS Gov Cloud environment

  • IAT II certification required

  • Location: Remote

The likely salary range for this position is $80,226 - $103,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
