MAG ATHENA Airborne Sensor Operator (ASO) in FAIRFAX, Virginia

Position Summary

Conduct real-time layered analysis of data from a variety of collection assets, delivers intelligence products during the execution of combat and sustainment operations. Conducts sensor control and will communicate that information to ground force commanders during the execution of decisive operations. Consult with program engineers as required to plan and execute operations in a manner commensurate with operational capabilities. Understanding system operation and employment tactics, techniques, and procedures to optimize system employment. Provide support to management on an as required basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • The ASO will be required to execute all assigned preflight, flight, and post flight duties as required to safely and effectively operate the assigned sensor(s) and mission set.

  • This includes, mission planning, pre-briefings, mission system inspection, operation, troubleshooting, post-flight inspections, debriefings, intelligence product preparation and distribution, and mission documentation.

  • Expected to be intimately familiar with all aspects of operation and employment of the mission equipment.

  • Provide instruction to junior ASOs at a level that enables ASOs to perform unassisted flight operations IAW contractual requirements.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience or 700 flight hours as an aircrew member on a multi-place military or government ISR contract aircraft.

  • Experience and intimate understanding of Joint Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).

  • Previous internal aircraft, air-to-air, and air-to-ground communication experience required.

  • Possess a current FAA Class II or III Medical Certificate issued within 6-months of employment start date.

  • Possess a United States Passport that is valid for 12 months after employment start date and be able to travel internationally.

  • Current physiological training / altitude chamber or previously completed with proof of completion.

  • Possess excellent CRM skills and be able to apply ORM principles.

  • Be willing to deploy for rotations of up to 90 days to various OCONUS operating locations as directed by the Government.

  • Must show demonstrable interpretation and analysis experience using SAR/MTI and ELINT sensors and be able to produce post mission products using Microsoft office suite.

  • Must be able to travel to various CONUS locations for training.

  • Be willing to work long hours and / or non-regular hours with minimal notice.

  • Be able to proficiently operate assigned sensors while airborne for extended periods.

  • Be willing to work and execute airborne missions in Hardship and Hazardous locations.

  • Applicants must be fully deployable according to AFRICOM, EUCOM, Indo-PACOM and CENTCOM’s Theater Entry Requirements.

  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • Have an active Top Secret with SCI.

  • Ability to pass CI Polygraph.

Education

  • Minimum High school diploma.

Desired Requirements

  • 5 years as a Navy SS-3/EWO/Special Projects (P-3C, P-8A), ECMO/WSO (EA-6B, EA-18G), or EP-3E LABOP or EWOP or Mission Commander. Air Force EWO/WSO (RC-135, EC-130 Compass Call), Air Force/Navy Air Battle Manager (AWACS, E-2C/D).

  • Graduate of military technical training courses such as Electronic Warfare Officer, Navy Aviation Electronic Warfare School, Air Battle Manager, Airborne Early Warning School, or qualification as an Airborne Sensor Operator in the U.S. Military or on prior DoD contracted aircraft.

  • Experience in aircraft and sensor test and evaluation and sensor integration.

  • Experience with international operations.

Physical Demands

  • Be willing to fly on aircraft for extended periods of time.

  • Must successfully complete a deployment physical examination including immunizations.

  • Must have willingness/ability to stay on duty at extended periods of time, as mission dictates.

Duty Environment

  • Be willing to work in hardship and hazardous locations.

  • Candidate should expect to be hired on a probationary period for the duration of his/her first OCONUS rotation.

  • Willing to share billeting accommodations with multiple members.

  • Must adhere to all United Nations and company regulations as applicable.

Additional Requirements

  • 50% or more during the course of the year.

  • Must maintain a flexible travel schedule. Travel which may include austere environments.

  • Be willing to travel for long periods of time, work long hours and / or non-regular hours with minimal notice.

The projected compensation range for this position is $70000 to $130000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAG's total compensation package for employees.
