ICF Accessibility Specialist - REMOTE in Fairfax, Virginia

Description

ICF seeks an Accessibility Specialist to work within our Children and Youth (C&Y) portfolio. The C&Y portfolio provides training, technical assistance, and program support to promote evidence-based solutions for child and family services. The Accessibility Specialist will support the accessibility compliance and conformity of training content and materials for call center representatives who provide health care access and information for military personnel and their families.

Location:

This role will be based out of a home/remote ICF office with occasional travel for client and staff meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct accessibility evaluations and audits using assistive technologies, automated testing tools, and manual testing techniques.

  • Ensure 508 compliance of all training products and materials.

  • Develop accessibility policies and procedures for internal project team.

  • Conduct accessibility training for internal project team.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in web accessibility, digital accessibility, or creating accessible training materials OR DHS Trusted Tester Certification.

  • Ability to obtain government security clearance.

Professional Skills:

  • Solid team player with proven ability to manage competing priorities, perspectives and partnership needs.

  • Expert knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines, including WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1 and Section 508.

  • Proficiency in conducting accessibility evaluations and audits using assistive technologies, automated testing tools, and manual testing techniques.

  • Experience with accessibility evaluation tools such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, Axe, or WAVE.

  • Familiarity with responsive design principles and mobile accessibility best practices.

  • Experience in developing accessibility policies, procedures, and training materials for internal teams.

  • Excellent verbal, oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate accessibility requirements and recommendations to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to collaborate with designers, developers, content creators, and other stakeholders to integrate accessibility into the software development lifecycle.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex accessibility issues and propose effective solutions.

  • Commitment to staying current with emerging trends, technologies, and regulations related to digital accessibility.

  • Flexibility and willingness to accept a change in priorities as necessary.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$69,862.00 - $118,765.00
