In this role, you will be assisting in the network assessments, architecture design, implementation & configuration of network infrastructures. You will be working on all aspects of network engineering, to include routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, etc. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving network issues and will likely be working independently. This includes, but is not limited to the following areas of responsibilities: RESPONSIBILITIES: Assessment, design, implementation, testing and troubleshooting network systems. Assisting the customer with architectural changes and requirements. Establish and maintain network performance. Providing required metrics. Build network configurations and connections and troubleshoot network problems. Perform network assessments and provide recommendations for network optimizations. Define, document, and enforce system standards to ensure cybersecurity requirements are met. Troubleshoot network problems and outages. Schedule system upgrades and maintenance windows as required. Collaborate with network architects on network optimization and implement updates as directed. Analyze and maintain load balancing, firewall and security products under the network umbrella. Implementation 1. Install physical network equipment to include, but not limited to switches, routers, firewalls, and encryption devices into network racks as needed. 2. Install and run network cabling in buildings to include, but not limited to single mode/multi[1]mode fiber and category 5e/6/6e/7 cable as needed. 3. Be proficient in cable termination of category 5e/6/6e/7 and single mode/multi-mode fiber. 4. Deploy non-secure/secure network telephones. Work with the host base to get phones online and functioning. 5. Work with the Audio/Video team and facilities personnel to install and configure VTC equipment. 6. Work with host base to request and deploy base owned and supported network devices. Troubleshooting 1. Provide Tier I and II levels of troubleshooting as required. 2. Work with third party vendors and DISA in support of networking equipment. 3. Assist Audio/Video team with all network related issues as they pertain to VTC's and the Phone networks. 4. Work with outside entities to troubleshoot and correct issues outside of JPRA control. Security 1. Apply/Update iOS software to all networking equipment on supported JPRA networks to maintain USCYBERCOM IAVM compliance. 2. Apply/Update DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) to all networking devices. 3. Comply with all USCYBERCOM TASKORDS, WARNORDS, FRAGOS, OPORDS, and GENORDS. 4. Comply with all Air Force TO's, CTO's, MPTO's, AFI's, AFMAN's, and local policies. 5. Work with the Information Assurance team to remediate all discovered vulnerabilities within a timely manner. 6. Implement and maintain Virtual LAN's (VLAN) in accordance with DISA STIGs. 7. Implement and maintain 802.1x port-based Network Access Control. 8. Implement and maintain Network Access Control through the use of Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) services. 9. Manage perimeter netwo
