Department Summary:

The Globally Contested Logistics and Supply Chain department (N154) within the Operations in Contested Environment Division (N150), aims to holistically address Logistics and Supply Chain challenges that face our nation, with a focus on the Department of Defense. We accomplish our mission by preparing for and sustaining power projection while under a persistent, multi-domain attack in contested environments through dynamic basing, resupply, and maintenance across 4 focus areas:

  • Architect solutions for robust, secure, resilient logistics networks.

  • Operationalize logistics through decision support.

  • Provide innovative approaches for prepositioning and resupply to meet operational objectives.

  • Agile Logistics Support in High-Risk Environments.

N154 is responsible and accountable for the Logistics in a Contested Environment Portfolio of projects (4A00) and for creating solutions to Joint Contested Logistics issues across MITRE’s various portfolios.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The N154 Globally Contested Logistics and Supply Chain Department is seeking an Operations Lead. In this role, you will lead a small team to ensure the value of MITRE’s technical work is communicated effectively, offer creative business solutions, and contribute to the growth of our department. This role may perform a subset of the Department Leadership duties and may occasionally represent the Department Leadership at internal and sponsor engagements.

  • Lead and ensure the Operations Coordinator Group is integrated with Division objectives for growing our people, growing our work and growing our organization.

  • Lead and manage MITRE Project Work Statements (PWS) to ensure execution and delivery of projects to a variety of sponsors.

  • Develop, manage, and maintain the operations plan to achieve the Department vision for and strategy. Develop actionable and achievable milestones to drive the vision and strategy.

  • Serve as a conduit for information to Department Leadership to help synthesize and clarify challenges in the Department to allow Leadership to rapidly make decisions that resolve Department work program challenges.

  • Integrate with other Operations Leads in the Air and Space Force Center to identify common objectives and areas of synergy to achieve Department and Division goals.

  • Leads and executes collaboration sessions for the execution of Air Force and Joint Service functions and activities to drive towards delivering high impact at scale for various customers.

  • Develop work program standards to manage schedule, budget and details of programs associated with Air Force and Joint Services.

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns and authors corporate and sponsor reports and data visualizations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in business management, Communications, or related field; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.

  • Three years of project or people leadership experience.

  • Experience working with the Federal Government and specifically the Department of Defense.

  • Demonstrated experience in building trusted relationships.

  • Clear and articulate written and verbal communications. combined with

  • Strong financial acumen; experience with budgeting and Clarity.

  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit.

  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Air and Space Force operations.

  • Technical and business understanding of FFRDC and NSEC operations.

  • Familiarity with MITRE’s NSEC and A&SFC business, contractual, and operational cycles (e.g., MRT, funding processes, STE, PWS, etc.).

  • Demonstrated professionalism with senior MITRE and sponsor leadership.
