NANA Regional Corporation Ramp Service Agent (Part Time - 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM) in Fairbanks, Alaska

Ramp Service Agents (RSA) are crucial to our operations, responsible for marshalling aircraft at the gate, loading, unloading, and sorting freight and baggage. They also service aircraft lavatories, provide potable water, push back aircraft from the gate, deice aircraft, and perform other delegated duties. RSAs follow established procedures and generally work under the supervision of Customer Service Reps, Supervisors, or Ramp Managers.

The hours for this part-time position are 6:30 AM - 9:30 AM, up to five days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Marshall aircraft on the ramp, including directing, assisting, and parking arriving, departing, and towed aircraft.

  • Service aircraft as needed, including cabin cleaning and other required services.

  • Perform aircraft de-icing/anti-icing.

  • Shuttle crew members.

  • Load and unload aircraft baggage and cargo.

  • Operate all ground service equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Maintain the safety and security of aircraft.

  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Must have valid driver’s license.

  • Willingness to work in inclement weather.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or show proof of right to work in the U.S.

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds comfortably.

  • Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.

  • Ability to work under stressful situations and tight time constraints in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-motivated and a team player.

  • Required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.

  • Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history, and pre-employment drug test.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Ramp Service experience.

  • De-icing service experience.

  • Forklift operation experience.

Language Skills:

  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Speak effectively one-on-one and before groups of customers or employees.

Math Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Abilities:

  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands:

  • Occasionally lift or move (with assistance) up to 100 pounds.

  • Frequently lift or move 60 pounds.

  • Regularly required to use hands, talk, hear, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, stand, and walk.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.

Work Environment:

  • Routinely work outside and are exposed to all types of weather conditions.

  • The noise level is usually moderate but can vary depending on location and time of day.

  • Use of provided hearing protection or acceptable alternatives is required.
