Everts Air Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Helper Part 121 Swing Shift in Fairbanks, Alaska

Job Summary

The AandP Apprentice is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of company aircraft and performing general hangar cleaning under the direct supervision of the assigned Mechanic or Repairman. The assigned AandP or Repairman will provide back-sign as proof of supervision, as per 14 CFR Part 43.3(d). AandP Apprentices are expected to accumulate substantial on-the-job (OJT) training hours or complete through their own college coursework in order to test for an Airframe and/or Powerplant license. Payment for testing fees is available, subject to certain restrictions.

Essential Functions:

  1. Ensure that all assigned tasks are carried out in accordance with the policies and procedures outlined in the General Maintenance Manual. Stay updated by reviewing Maintenance Bulletins and Memos as they are released.
  2. Aid AandP Mechanics and Repairmen in the replacement, installation, maintenance, and repair of aircraft components.
  3. Utilize hand tools or power tools to adjust, connect/disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, panels, and other aircraft parts.
  4. Support coworkers by providing tools and supplies, maintaining cleanliness in work areas, and assisting with holding materials or tools.
  5. Take part in the assembly and disassembly of machinery, equipment, components, and parts.

``` 1. Carry out tasks such as cleaning and lubricating machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects using power tools and cleaning equipment.

``` 7. Position vehicles, machinery, equipment, physical structures, and other objects for assembly or installation using hand tools, power tools, and moving equipment. 8. Assist with preheating, deicing, aircraft launch and recovery, servicing, fluids, snow removal, and hangar recovery. 9. Stay up to date with all required training.

  2. Be familiar with the Company's Safety Management System (SMS) and Occupational Safety Manual (OSM).
  3. Contribute to the Safety Culture of the Company and report any Safety Hazards.
  4. Required to learn and understand Dangerous Goods Transportation requirements.
  5. Keep your work areas clean and free of hazards; correct unsafe conditions when encountered and report those that you are unable to personally correct to a supervisor.

Physical Abilities:

The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position must perform in carrying out essential job functions.

  1. Ability to reach horizontally and vertically with arms. Sufficient dexterity to manipulate small objects and print or write legibly.
  2. Sufficient physical ability, strength, mobility, and stamina to lift, carry, push, or pull objects which may frequently exceed 70 pounds in a series of functional tests which clearly simulate the work environment.
  3. Physical ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  4. Requires the ability to be sedentary for extended periods of time.
  5. Shall perceive the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, the manual dexterity to operate business related equipment, handling and working with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.

Qualifications:
  1. Requires ability to understand and retain verbal and written information.
  2. Requires knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
  3. Requires manual dexterity to assemble and disassemble intricate assemblies.
  4. Requires frequent lifting of weights of 70 pounds or more.
  5. Requires ability to stand on hard surfaces, floors, ladders, and work stands for extended periods of time.
