Bentley Systems IAM Manager in Exton, Pennsylvania

Identity & Access Management (IAM) Manager

Location: In the US, East, Central & Mountain time zone preferred. Home-based work is available for all qualified candidates.

Position Summary:

Bentley Systems, a pioneer in infrastructure software, is on the lookout for an Identity and Access Management (IAM) Manager to lead our external IAM systems. This dual-faceted role demands a savvy leader who excels in both technical mastery and personnel management. You’ll be the cornerstone of our customer-facing IAM services, crucial for the seamless operation of our software solutions across the US, Europe, and Southeast Asia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and steer an IAM strategy that not only fortifies our security but also underpins the reliability of our external software systems.

  • Provide technical and personal leadership to our IAM Support Engineers, nurturing a team that excels in customer engagement and technical problem-solving.

  • Formulate IAM policies and protocols that align with global compliance standards, focusing on external system requirements.

  • Innovate and implement IAM solutions that bolster our customer-facing software, incorporating OAUTH 2.0 and OIDC flows.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the IAM framework is robust, user-friendly, and scalable.

  • Understand and address the IAM needs of our diverse clientele, delivering tailored solutions that enhance user experience.

  • Initiate and conduct training programs to elevate IAM understanding, emphasizing its impact on customer satisfaction and trust.

  • Continuously evaluate and refine the IAM program, ensuring it remains agile and responsive to customer needs.

  • Manage IAM support metrics with an eye on optimizing customer interactions and system reliability.

  • This role requires minimum travel.

  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements (https://www.bls.gov/ors/factsheet/visual-overview-of-physical-demands.htm) ).

Desired Abilities and Experience:

  • Over 5 years of experience in IAM, with a focus on external identity systems and customer-oriented solutions.

  • Strong technical foundation in IAM technologies, including SSO, MFA, RBAC, OAUTH 2.0, and OIDC.

  • A history of deploying IAM in complex, customer-centric environments, particularly cloud-based platforms.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of compliance regulations pertinent to external IAM systems.

  • Outstanding communication and leadership abilities, with a knack for inspiring teams and engaging with stakeholders globally.

  • Sharp analytical skills and a strategic approach to overcoming IAM challenges.

  • Proficiency in managing RESTful APIs for user and application administration in a customer-facing context.
