Child & Family Service Therapist IV - Sex Abuse Treatment Services (Full-Time) in Ewa Beach, Hawaii

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Conducts assessments and develops and implements service plans with measurable objectives (based on clinical assessments). Responsible for the implementation of services, linking the assessment, design, and evaluation of therapeutic interventions with the purpose of achieving successful case outcome. Provides individual, conjoint, family and group therapy according to treatment needs, and outreach. Provides family life education and advocacy as needed. Appropriately and selectively utilizes a broad variety of diagnostic and treatment skills and Best Practice techniques. May provide transportation for families on occasion. Performs required administrative tasks related to caseload, such as correspondence, reports, dictation and maintaining of case records. Allocates a minimum of 60% of available time to direct services. Uses regular supervision to improve performance and assure excellence in service delivery. Represents the program with community organizations.

Coordinates and collaborates with public and private agencies to ensure non-duplication of services. Facilitates and records interdisciplinary team meetings. Provides case management and service coordination in conjunction with referring CPS social worker. Performs administrative tasks related to agency-wide data, such as daily and monthly activity reports, in a timely fashion. Maintains participant confidentiality at all times. Performs other related duties as assigned.


EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's Degree in social work, psychology, or related field from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of one year and up to and including two years of experience in providing relevant services to participants.
    • Experience working with parents/caregivers who harmed their children or threatened their children with harm, and children who experienced harm or were threatened with harm and who experienced trauma and loss. Experience working with domestic violence, substance abuse, and permanency issues.
    • Experience in the areas of victimology, sex therapy, human sexuality, or sex offender treatment.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Willing and able to work with others, including participants coping with multiple issues, families that present safety issues, and co-workers, as part of a team.
  • Good verbal and written skills, including therapeutic a sessment and treatment, interviewing, recording and letter writing.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license and a clear driver's abstract and continued employment may be contingent on maintaining a clear driver's abstract.
  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and use of personal vehicle to transport participants, as needed, as well as a willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and use of agency vehicle to transport participants, as needed, as well as a willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
  • The nature of this position requires the incumbent to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and continued employment is contingent on a record clear of convictions.
  • Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of CPR, CPI and/or van driving training as such training is necessary to ensure ability/continued ability to perform essential functions of this job.
  • Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of CPI classes OR other Behavioral Management certification as may be contract-mandated.
  • Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of First Aid classes.
