Aston Carter Payroll Specialist in Everett, Washington

Top skills:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.

  • At least 2 years of payroll experience, including for 500+ employees in multiple states.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook.

  • Preferred experience with payroll software like UKG, UltiPro, Kronos, or ADP.

Description:

The Payroll Specialist handles payroll tasks, ensuring they are done accurately, on time, and follow regulations. This role reports to the Payroll Manager.

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for US and Canadian employees, including off-cycle payments.

  • Collect and process payroll data accurately and on time.

  • Help managers keep accurate records of employee time and PTO.

  • Audit payroll records and fix any issues.

  • Answer payroll-related questions from employees and management.

  • Resolve payroll issues related to pay, garnishments, policies, and taxes.

  • Handle Verification of Employment (VOE) inquiries.

  • Process expense reimbursements every two weeks.

  • Manage wage garnishments and child support requests.

  • Prepare payroll journal entries bi-weekly and monthly.

  • Review payroll reports and ensure accuracy.

  • Work with the People & Culture team to improve payroll processes.

  • Assist with payroll projects and department goals.

  • Support year-end payroll tasks.

  • Perform other duties as needed.
