Actalent Test Engineer in Evansville, Indiana

Job Title: Test Engineer

Job Description

We are known for our design, engineering, production, and service of industrial power systems and control systems in electric rotating machinery and motors for mining, mills, and heavy industry. We manufacture DC, AC, and synchronous motors and convert DC to AC to make mining, mills, and heavy industry applications more autonomous. As a Test Engineer, you will coordinate with the junior test engineer and other departments to ensure that parts, pieces, and test plans are complete by the time the machine is ready for testing. Your average day will vary depending on the production schedule for testing machines. During downtime between waves of machines needing tests, you will prepare for future tests and/or work on test pad improvement projects. Frequent activities include checking production schedules, coordinating with your direct report to ensure test preparations are on schedule, accounting for all materials and equipment, fielding questions from production, troubleshooting test pad issues, and conducting tests. Intermittent activities include reviewing test procedures for new machines, advising on testing proposals/quotes, and ensuring all instruments are within the calibration range.
