Presbyterian Homes Assistant Director of Nursing in Evanston, Illinois
Westminster Place is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Assistant Director of Nursing for the Nursing Administration department. Join the team at Westminster Place, a Presbyterian Homes community, an independent, non-profit senior living care organization offering full continuum of care from independent and assisted living to skilled nursing and memory care at four luxury retirement communities.
Starting at $107,700.00 to $134,300.00 Annual Salary (Depending on years of experience)
Full Time (8:30 AM- 4:30AM) Monday through Friday. Weekends part of on call rotation.
This role requires flexibility, leadership, and a commitment to continuous learning and adherence to established healthcare standards and policies. The position plays a critical part in ensuring high-quality care and efficient operation of the nursing department.
The Ideal candidate will:
Assuming the role of Director of Nursing (DON) when necessary, including 24-hour responsibility during the DON’s absence.
Overseeing the ADP payroll system and ensuring compliance with all regulations related to nursing service and employee relations.
Implementing policies and procedures of Presbyterian Homes/Westminster Place and acting as a clinical and role model for the nursing staff.
Overseeing nursing programs, ensuring residents’ nursing needs are met, and documenting progress towards goals.
Managing resident care with expert nursing judgment, serving as a contact for residents, physicians, families, and visitors, and making rounds to assess patient needs.
Evaluating and directing staff, collaborating with healthcare professionals to manage care effectively, and being responsible for infection control.
Participating in the nursing leadership, coordinating educational programs for staff, assisting with recruitment, and managing staff orientation and onboarding.
Handling staffing schedules and emergencies, conducting performance reviews, counseling staff, and recommending or initiating disciplinary actions.
Serving as manager on call and on duty during weekends and holidays, participating in Quality Assurance (QA) activities, and being responsible for professional development.
Adapting to changes, learning and using software for efficient service and documentation, and adhering to corporate compliance policies regarding confidentiality and resident well-being.
Education :
Graduation from an approved professional nursing (RN) program.
Qualifications:
Active, current Illinois RN license to practice professional nursing.
Wound care certification or willingness to complete certification within 1 year of starting job.
Current CPR certification.
Three years of experience as a staff nurse in an acute care or long-term care setting. Supervisory/management experience.
Knowledge of Medicare regulations and MDS 3.0
