Department Summary

The Department of Physics is an instructional and research department within the College of Arts and Sciences that supports significant research activities in a wide range of fields in the Physics discipline. The Department includes approximately 35 teaching faculty, emeritus faculty, research staff, graduate students, and professional/administrative staff. The department enrolls approximately 2,000 students per term, with approximately 200 undergraduate Physics majors, 50 students in the pre-engineering program, and 105 doctoral students.

Position Summary

The Department of Physics at the University of Oregon is soliciting applications for its open applicant instructor pool. Positions may be part-time, temporary, or limited-duration appointments not to exceed one year. There is a possibility of renewal for up to a total of three years depending on program needs, funding, and performance. The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.

Minimum Requirements

Master's degree in Physics or related field is required
