De stageopdracht beschrijving bevat het meedraaien op de afdeling Order Engineering Pump Seals als design engineer met als doel om een product design (mechanical seal) ontwerpen voor een lopende order en een ‘best practice’ op te zetten om sneller stuklijsten (BOMs) te maken voor het design. Op dit moment ondergaat Flowserve meerdere grote veranderingen waaronder de recente implementatie van PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software en transitie van AutoCAD 2D naar Solidworks 3D. Daarin is nog veel ruimte voor verbetering waarin een HBO stagiair een rol kan spelen. Plan van aanpak:

• De eerste weken van de stage:

• Het volgen van seal design trainingen

• de stagiair zal onderdelen van het seal in 3D Solidworks uitwerken voor de fabriek

• de stagiair zal meelopen met een andere design engineer voor het oplossen van engineering gerelateerde problemen gevonden in de fabriek.

• Na afronding van het eerste stageblok:

• De stagiair zal een lopende order toegewezen krijgen om zelfstandig een mechanical seal te ontwerpen op basis van de design standaarden en gegeven training.

• De stagiair zal een design engineering ‘best practice’ opzetten om sneller stuklijsten (BOMs) te maken voor de product ontwerpen.

• Het gaat hier om het onderzoeken en uitwerken van een standaard Nexus (PLM) functionaliteit om alle gerelateerde onderdelen, tekeningen en materialen effectief te verzamelen en aan te kunnen passen.

• de stagiair neemt deel in de werkoverleggen van het team om te ervaren hoe alle facetten van de engineering afdeling werkt, naar het einde toe van de stage zal de stagiair ook input aan het werkoverleg gaan geven.
